![]() Machine: 40th Anniversary PacMan (Pac-Man, Pacman) table top I never opened up an arcade machine before this have confidence that you will be able to fix it too. Notes for other newbies that will have the same joystick issues I had. Hoping my response helps others attempting to use the, at times, challenging search function. First time using Reddit, your responses helped me get new joysticks acquired and installed. Btw, the stick has a bit of grease, try not to clean it up when removing the original spring, it needs a bit of lubrication.Ī thank you to all that help the newbies here. I wouldn't worry too much about the springs, they are cheap enough, just use it and replace it once you think it's not good. I guess you can compare the spring to a nice tshirt, maybe when it's new it's a bit tight, but after a while, it gets stretched and at that point it fits you perfectly, and after another while, it is too stretched and does not fit you very well. I think that arcade1up sticks are terrible, but if your problem it's that they are too loose, maybe you just need to replace the spring and see if you like it that way. Also consider that at the beginning you will feel that the stick is too stiff while the spring gets loose. If you think they are getting too loose you can try a 6 lb spring and see if once that is loose, if still performs within your expectations. Never had any sanwa stick break on me, but you gotta understand that the spring will get loose, ideally it will get loose, but not to the point where it is unusable. I have used diyretroarcade in the past and they were great just in case. ![]() Also here's a link on how to replace the spring and the restrictor: Those guys from diyretroarcade also sell sanwa sticks and 4 way restrictors:įinally, before ordering, remove your control panel and check to make sure your arcade1up model uses two 4 wire connectors per stick, if so, it should work for you. This cable is an adapter that allows to connect a sanwa stick to arcade1up without having to solder anything: ![]()
